      Licensing options

HDR Light Studio Carbon (Drop 1) was launched in February 2018 as a new upgrade terminology replacing older software version numbers (like 5.4). HDR Light Studio is available in two license options – annual subscription license or perpetual license:

      Annual subscription

Get access to the software and all its updates during one year. When the subscription period expires you no longer have access to the software, unless you want to renew the subscription for another year. Available as  node locked or floating, see below.

      Perpetual license

A perpetual license does not expire. It gives you access to the latest software version by the time of purchase. You get access to updates released up to 90 days after time of purchase. Perpetual licenses can not be upgraded when newer software versions are released. If you want to benefit from future updates annual subscription is the better option. Available as node locked or floating:

      • Node locked license: the license is locked to one computer
      • Floating license: every license can be used by a user on all computers on the same local network

Activating a license is easy with HDR Light Studio: at purchase an activation code is entered when the software runs. The code obtains a license key and quickly installs it. This apply to both floating and node locked. If there are no license key, HDR Light Studio runs in demo mode, whichs means a watermark, limited environment map resolution and that projects can not be saved.
